Beyond Radio is the place where music discovery and music nostalgia collide. It is your one-stop source for playlists, music charts, remembrances and recommendations. Our Podcast and music therapy playlists combine elements of nostalgia and discovery, while my blog entries reflect on our musical past through the lens of my personal charts from decades past. I weave a story that includes the connection between artists, chart facts and personal anecdotes that hopefully conjure a connection to the soundtrack of your own life. The current charts and playlists are updated monthly or bi-monthly (bi-weekly for the BR250) and are curated based on a passionate audience that produce their own personal charts weekly.
New Beyond Radio 250 and Untapped Resources 250 posted
For those of you who have followed these pages for a while you know there is usually a summer slow down. I mostly took off the month of July because of the annual party, vacation and my birthday. With all that behind me I’m ready to dive back into things. The July 16 Beyond Radio 250 and Untapped Resources 250 are now posted along with my most current personal chart. Other charts should come over the course of the next couple of weeks.
In addition I am working on the second series of Podcasts which should debut at the end of August or early September.
Along with my friend Jeff Morris, our premise is to bridge music nostalgia and music discovery with this Podcast. The Podcast will be released in a Netflix series fashion, with several episodes released at the same time relating to a companion playlist, which we called the Pod-Castlist, that is also featured on Spotify. This first playlist has 8 episodes associated with it and the music spans almost 60 years. Find out how the Partridge Family relate to Twenty One Pilots, where the drum riff from EMF’s “Unbelievable” and others came from, the connection between Hard-Fi and The Turtles and how a Polyphonic Spree song conquers two disparate artists in Tim and Jeff’s minds among other themes.
