Calm Down, August BR250 in the Books

Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Of Monsters and Men have dominated the BR250 over the summer months with “Never Really Over” claiming the summer’s #1 position while “You Need To Calm Down” moves from 2-1 for the month of August.

Ed Sheeran’s superstar collaboration with Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars vaults from 27-2, we’ll see if pop radio embraces the funky rock groove.

It would have seemed unlikely at the beginning of 2019 that Whitney Houston would have a top 5 song on Beyond Radio but there she is on the Kygo remake of “Higher Love”.

Freya Ridings UK pop hit “Castles” makes a nice jump into the top 10 here, moving 52-9. Sam Fender has placed 4 songs in the top 100 in the last year but his latest “Will We Talk?” is the first to see the top 25 as it climbs 425-14.

On the rock front Volbeat sees their #1 rock airplay song “Last Day Under The Sun” rise 77-17 and Tool’s first release in 13 years, “Fear Inoculum” debuts  at #23.
