Beyond Radio is the place where music discovery and music nostalgia collide. It is your one-stop source for playlists, music charts, remembrances and recommendations. Our Podcast and music therapy playlists combine elements of nostalgia and discovery, while my blog entries reflect on our musical past through the lens of my personal charts from decades past. I weave a story that includes the connection between artists, chart facts and personal anecdotes that hopefully conjure a connection to the soundtrack of your own life. The current charts and playlists are updated monthly or bi-monthly (bi-weekly for the BR250) and are curated based on a passionate audience that produce their own personal charts weekly.
It’s the time of year when Eurovision entries populate the upper reaches. Nice moves into the top 10 for Blossoms, surging to #1, Rita Ora and Company and A Perfect Circle. Not sure what the song title is supposed to mean.
In the next few weeks my time will be dominated by my annual music party scheduled for June 30 and a new major feature to the website that has been in the formulation stage for 6 months. That should debut, with any luck, by the last week of June. I hope that will expand the scope of the Beyond Radio universe, add a fun layer for our existing audience, as well as tap into a new audience.
I hope my passion for the discovery of new music is evident with all I’ve done and will do in the future. It seems a perfect time for me to capitalize on my history of music discovery thus far. Along those lines if you haven’t already I implore you to check out the major new female voice, Caitlyn Smith, who is poised for a 4th #1 on my personal chart in just over 2 months with the amazing “Don’t Give Up On My Love”. The artist straddles a line between country, adult alternative and adult pop that must be heard.
