MK17 is Better than NC17 as it Moves to #1 on the UR250

Untapped Resources 250, December 4 2017

As this chart shows a lot of volatility from week to week I’ve decided to provide commentary on the top 25 each chart.

4 songs stay in the top 10 this week while 3 top 10 entries move from outside the top 100.

3        1        MK   17      496.512       1

This song just moved up to #12 on the UK airplay chart.

107    2        FOO FIGHTERS Soldier        489.5 2

The 4th song from the band to reach the BR250 this year zooms up to #2. This song is not featured on their current album “Concrete And Gold”.

new   3        MARIAH CAREY         The Star      487.971       3

The title song from the animated Christmas movie blasts onto the chart

1        4        EVERYTHING EVERYTHING       Night Of The Long Knives       486.88          1(2)

4        5        DJANGO DJANGO       Tic Tac Toe 480.72         4

32      6        PLAN B      Heartbeat    479.19         6

British Hip Hop artist and actor puts the raping aside on this heartfelt ballad.

2        7        ALAN WALKER f/ DANNY SHAH  The Spectre 475.3 2

119    8        THE WOMBATS Lemon To A Knife Fight          472.32         8

The Liverpool band is back with a quirky tune previewing their upcoming album “Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life”.

84      9        MIGUEL    Told You So         469.89         9

The R&B singers latest album “War & Leisure” was just released last Friday. This pop leaning song debuted 4 weeks ago just outside the BR250 and is currently #115.

24      10      KESHA       Learn To Let Go  468.24         10

While her collaboration with Macklemore is in the top 20 on the Pop radio chart her 2nd official solo single of the year just cracked the Billboard Hot 100.

216    11      PALOMA FAITH Guilty         464.625       11

This single is full of UK bombast, grand and theatrical, which can be a good thing. It just cracked the UK airplay top 40.

23      12      TOVE LO   Disco Tits    458.955       12

Her latest is having its best run on the Billboard Dance chart where it sits in the top 10.

36      13      CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG         Deadly Valentine  458.1 13

The controversial singer and actress’ pulsating Electro-Pop song is culled from her 1st album in 6 years “Rest”.

18      14      CAM Diane 454.8 14

Can she repeat the success of her hugely popular “Burning House” which reached #2 on the BR250. Upon early listening I believe the song has potential.

19      15      DMA’S        Dawning     452.34         15

This song has been steadily climbing at Beyond Radio since late October.

66      16      KELLY CLARKSON    Meaning Of Life   449.19         16

This song co-written by UK singer-songwriter James Morrison joins “Move You” as the 2nd top 20 Untapped Resources entry from the album of the same name.

8        17      TEARS FOR FEARS     I Love You But I’m Lost          446.072       8

This loses ground more because it moved into the top 100 on the BR250 than because it lost personal chart support.

50      18      TAYLOR SWIFT Call It What You Want  445.92         18

1 of 3 songs from “Reputation” to grace the UR top 100 this week, making 6 songs in the BR250.

14      19      QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE      Feet Don’t Fail Me         437.792       14

The song is making inroads on the Canadian Rock and Alternative charts.

30      20      KODALINE         Ready To Change 430.1 20

The Dubliners also scored a 2nd top 20 on the Untapped Resources chart after ‘Brother” rose to #14 this past summer.

20      21      SHED SEVEN      Room In My House        425.7 20

7        22      SAM SMITH        Pray  423    7

31      23      CLIENT LIASON f/ TINA ARENA  A Foreign Affair   421.3 23

It’s actually not a foreign affair as both acts hail from Australia. Tina Arena is one of the country’s best selling female artists of all time.

10      24      MARMOZETS     Habits         419.82         10

Because it moves 89-68 on the BR250 it takes one step closer to graduating from Untapped status.

16      25      PINK f/ EMINEM          Revenge      408.4 16

“Revenge” slides and “Beautiful Trauma” moves up but I think the later will graduate by the next chart. “Whatever You Want” is poised to make the UR 100 as well.
