Sign Of The Times

Lorde sneaks in a second week at the top. With all of the top 5 losing points this week she could remain at the top as the point spread is wide enough to allow a cushion. Harry Styles has some momentum behind him, moving 29-10 in his 4th week, so he and Clean Bandit could be contenders in the coming weeks.

3 other songs enter the top 25 at 21,22 and 23 respectively. Kasabian’s “You’re In Love With A Psycho” is a bit of a surprise to me, although I like it. Not surprising are superstars Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Gaga moves 499-68 with “The Cure”, a song that owes more to current pop trends than her songs from “Joanne”. Another big leap, 449-98,  is attributed to Lana Del Rey and her collaboration with The Weeknd on “Lust For Life”.

Other notable top 100 entries are Zayn’s  new single “Still Got Time” (117-75),  Blondie’s 2nd top 100 entry this year “Long Time” (147-79), and 3 alt rock titles: Sir Sly’s “High” (114-83), Royal Blood’s “Lights Out” (247-87)  and Alt-J’s “In Cold Blood” (115-95).
