Eurovision, Psychedelia and Country dominate the UR top 10 along with a sprinkle of female superstars and punk

It’s Eurovision time again and Finland’s Saara Aalto moves into the top spot with the countries entry “Monsters”.  At #2 is Australia’s Delta Goodrem’s latest single. She has placed 9 songs at #1 in her homeland since 2003. At #4 modern psychedelia is represented by New Zealander’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra. 2 ballads from female superstars round out the top 5 this week.

At #6 Ash, a 25 year old alt band from Northern Ireland score with the punkish comeback “Buzzkill”.  In positions 7-9 are a trio of country artists, 2 veterans (Alan Jackson and Sara Evans) and one newcomer, Jillian Jacqueline. And falling from 4-10, we have Yeah Yeah Yeah’s vocalist Karen O’s collab with AAA artist Michael Kiwanuka. This one also has a decidedly psychedelic sound.
