Feeling It Coming

I imagine The Weeknd feels the 1-2 punch of Ed Sheeran coming but which will be the first victor? “Castle On The Hill” leaps past “Shape Of You” in a 9 notch rise from 11-2. They are within 30 points of each other with “Hill’ having the edge of one additional chart. Since they each had more than 5 times the growth of “I Feel It Coming” this week I’d be surprised if it can manage another week at the top.

While the top 25 is still relatively quiet in terms of chart movment (aside from Sheeran), The Chainsmokers vault 180-22 wth “Paris”, seemingly destined for another top 10. “Closer” was held off the top spot by “Heathens” and “Starboy” respectively.

Elsewhere in the top 100 Sia makes a nice move from 81-38 with “Move Your Body”, leaving her “Never Give Up” stalled in the 80’s. Sean Paul has the highest top 100 entry at #52 with “No Lies”, folled by Twenty One Pilots “HeavyDirtySoul” at #79 and the latest Bruno Mars single “That’s What I Like” at #82. Arcade Fire also have a nice move from 246-94 with “I Give You Power”.

Jamiroquai has not had a song or album out since 2010 but he manages to splash into the top 250 at #115 with “Automaton”, upon 11 adds. Only Ed Sheean and the Chainsmokers had more adds this week. We haven’t seen a song debut in the 250 ina couple of months. This week new songs by Major Lazer and Imagine Dragons debut at #203 and #207 based on 8 adds each.
